No One Asked: Discovering the Artists Who Shaped Our Sound

What's going on bunnies!

Dan here, back with yet another post that no one asked for!

As a band, we draw inspiration from a variety of musical influences that fuel our passion and creativity. As a predominantly funk band with a particularly enthusiastic bass player, we're always on the lookout for songs with infectious grooves and intricate, entertaining bass lines.

We find that we keep coming back to the following artists:

- Ocean Alley

- Bruno Mars

- Stevie Wonder

- Michael Jackson

- Lime Cordiale

- No Doubt

- PJ Morton

These artists bring a unique blend of laid-back funk and complexity to their music, and you might just catch a few of their tracks in our setlists!

That said, we’re far from being confined to these artists or styles. We’re constantly exploring new sounds and creative avenues to keep our performances fresh and exciting. Our goal is to captivate and engage our audience with every show.

We can't wait to share our love for music and the vibrant atmospheres we create with you all.

Poll: Should We Have Beef With String Theory??

Hello. It seems that a new band that also has a blogger is @ing us... you may view this band at stringtheoryscc.blogspot.com. There is no doubt that there is nothing to "measure up" to.
Please answer this poll:

Picking our Songs

Often when people need to make a new set list in their bands, they suggest things they been enjoying recently or listen to a couple hits and quickly put together there set.

However, that is never the case for this band.

It will always start with me, the chick with the best music taste (diverse and flexible), getting on the aux and we flick through a few songs. Daniel and Jordan will soon start suggesting a couple, and usually in the first 15 mins, we've found a few sick songs. Unfortunately for us, we like to make life difficult and we don't stop there. It could just be my fomoogs (fear of missing out of good songs), but we just keep playing more and more.

Usually Jon is pretty silent in this part, but eventually Jordan will make a comment about it, and he'll suggest whatever is his favourite new song at the moment, doesn't matter if it suits the band or not.

Anyway, before we know it, the lesson is over, Jordan is throwing a tantrum cause we haven't practiced any songs, Jon has ordered something off Facebook market place, Daniel is playing the piano way too loudly, and I have played every possible song, genre or idea that has popped into my head.

And thats why we do nothing in our practicals 😋

The Secrets of Being the Only Girl

hey followers, I thought id share some insight to being the only chick in our band.

Honestly, there isn't a lot to it, but being the only girl means constantly smashing stereotypes. People assume I’m just the “pretty face” of the band, but then they see me shredding those thick bass strings on stage, and their jaws drop.

unfortunately for me though, being the only girl often means It is left to me to make the important decisions. And don't get me wrong, I am a slight control freak heh, BUT these men take it for granted!

When a question is asked about any information to do with the band, it often results in the men looking absolutely clueless, staring at me waiting for me to take charge. But what are girls for ðŸ¤·‍♀️

Our Band (as a band), an Interpretation By Daniel

Meet the SUBs

Harriette: The one and only female in the 4. Harriette is one of our main vocalists and bass guitarists. Raised in a musical home, she can pretty much play any instrument possible (maybe). Harriette is a talented person, but she sometimes is a tad teeny weeny bit gullible.

Jon: The cool one. Jon is the main guitarist of the group and can play more guitar chords than me (not easy, considering i know all of 3 whole guitar chords). Jon is amazing, but can be indecisive of what songs we should play (especially after we learn all of them and have confirmed that we are playing them). Jon is mostly cool because he has two first names.

Jordan: The metalhead. Jordan is a talented percussionist, his skills, ranging from whacking hollowed out tubes with sticks to septuplets on the bass drum using double kick. Jordan plays each song we decide with grace and elegance (but we all know he wants to do thrash metal....he has put up with us and faced reality).

Daniel: The....interesting....one. Daniel is one of our main vocalists and our main keys player. Although he lacks the regular human braincell count, he is fairly well trained in the art of the voice (he talks too often). He is also a singer. There is not too much you can say about Daniel, other than he comes from a background of acting and musical theatre so you probably don't need to.

Overall,

The Stitched Up Bunnies are an amazing group of young performers. Weaponizing their musical talent, the Bunnies face and destroy (literally) every musical challenge they face. You truly would be lucky to see them in public, on or off the stage.

No One Asked: Our Process of Learning Songs

Hey yall it's Dan (vocallist and keys player for The Stitched Up Bunnies), welcome back to another episode!

So because no one asked, I decided to let you guys in on how we as a band learn the songs we have chosen for you guys.

So after we decide a song (finally, probably after 4-5 hours of talking over each other ðŸ¥°), we do this:

1. Listen to the song as a band in full, taking in the parts, structure and dynamics.

2. Decide who will play what instrument

3. Search online for chords, tabs or tutorials. (https://www.ultimate-guitar.com is always a great resource)

4. Depending on the difficulty and familiarity of the song, we will either, go off and learn our parts individually or play the song through the loudspeaker and try to form it together as a band.

5. After everyone knows their parts well enough, we practice it to refinement.
